Optimize Image

In this tutorial you will learn about optimize image on wordpress.

Goals:

• Increase web page speed

• Better search engine optimization (SEO)

• Save disk space

Rules:

• Compress your image to .webp

• Fill Alt text.

• Resize your image.

1. First, Compress your image before upload, By compressing images, you will reduce their file size. then you must compress image into .webp, because .webp smaller than .jpg, .png, and also google page speed recomended to user .webp than .jpg or png and also almost browser support .webp

2. Second, if you already compress image then upload to wordpress, don't forget to fill alternative name. this will Optimizing Website SEO. Below is an example of writing alt text:

In wordpress you can write alt text by going to wp-admin> media > click the image. (you can see the image below)

3. Resize your image, this will increase and give a save disk. this depend your design or your content image ( see image below ), if your image full you can use 1920px wide size. as you can see below if the image is not full you can resize it according to the width of the image that we use in the design, don't use large sizes like 1920px for images that are not full.
